I pulled all the wiring down and out of the way, under the dash, removed the fuse panel and got a sort of access to the two cluster-_____s (ground stars)...with some long needle nose and a round wire brush and some electrical contact cleaner. A couple of the spade connectors were all brittle and brownish red, plus quite corroded and I cleaned those all up (as best I could)...All works fine again.

I am a real believer in the List Wisdom on things like this...How many times do you read "Clean the grounds when you encounter electrical odd stuff" ? The gut reaction is "BS, It can't just be a bad ground...." but Believe It! People on here know what they are talking about.

Now back out to add the two headlight grounds while I am in fix -it mode....And then, patch my broken moto-mirror and I will be back to where I started yesterday....but once again beholden to the experts here on the list... Thanks to all who responded.. Don Hanson
