The original 205/70-14 tires from the factory and as the noted option on the
87 and later door stickers were only 97.

And anyone correct me of course if this is not accurate..
generally a 98S tire is under-ated for a vanagon . Or at least on the light
end of the scale.

oh ..now you say they're 96 S and not as suited as you thought.  Right on .
