The original 205/70-14 tires from the factory and as the noted option on the 87 and later door stickers were only 97.

If that's what you want and it works for you - great. And anyone correct me of course if this is not accurate.. generally a 98S tire is under-ated for a vanagon . Or at least on the light end of the scale.
