Searching again, it seems I shouldn't have quoted Wiki.

It would make more sense that Digifant II was used on later model year cars. This is what I'd originally thought.

Part of the confusion in this thread is the cover or title sheet of the Digifant Pro Training manual I linked to (not the one I used).
