The info below is for the later model Vanagons:

The high pressure hose that goes from the compressor all the way up to the condenser in the front of the van is not easily made up because of the special end on it at the compressor end. I have spent several years looking for this end and have never been able to find it. However what you can do is to cut the old end off of your old hose, then have a compression fitting put on that end of the new hose. Then you just slide your old end into the compression fitting, torque it down and you have a hose with the proper ends on each end.

I can get you one of these hoses for $125. Or I have a good used hose from a 91 with low miles for $100
