I was going to post a link to VC's Nokian tires too.

lately, I never hear of 'snow tires' .. rather, studless winter tires.... and generally, studless winter tires work just excellently.

I would also ask what are the max tire pressures and max load rating of the proposed tires. in the original post. 'ore' in those dimensions, in the rear, relative to the fronts, is desirable in terms of straight line tracking, turn-in, and cornering stability.

if people don't believe me, ask VW why this factory 1.6 TD Syncro I'm working on here specifies 6PR front tires, and 8PR rear tires on the tire sticker on the van. ( 205 R14 C )
