I certainly appreciate these warnings about replacement parts quality. I have bought from GoWesty, and have found their products to be of good quality, but frankly, this does make me wonder. The other warning concerning the bearing nut is also appreciated, but what is one to do? Reliable vendor, German made part, how is one to know, in a general sense?

Especially sense the reply you got from the vendor was that they knew the nut was incorrect, and this is a safety matter, I would think that a conscientious vendor would not carry the brand that includes the wrong nut. There SHOULD be liability if there is death, injury, or property loss in such a matter, but in most cases, the injured party would never know that such a part was the cause of failure. Unless the liability was extremely large, the deep pockets of an insurance company to investigate and find the cause would not be available. In most cases, the fact that the bearing had been replaced would never come out, much less what brand part was used, or from what vendor.

This sounds like a case of let the buyer beware, but without adequate knowledge, what does he beware of?
