I used a piece of copper pipe with a hole in each end that I drilled. One end had a long nail the other a pencil. I couldn't find a hanger sturdy enough to make an accurate measurement/mark. I have since then loaned this tool out for a buddy to install the shocks on his Westy. Sometimes you gotta get creative and use what you have on hand to get the job done.
