Mark,

I've replaced springs a few times (470,000 miles) on my '85 Westy. The van was sagging pretty badly after 300,000, so I pulled springs out of a "newer" '85. An improvement, but ...

I bought a pair of rear springs that Steve Schwenk "found" in his garage. An improvement until I heard a snap and the van suddenly sagged to the right.

I then replaced all four springs with GoWesty's. At the same time, I replaced bushings, etc. Also put on Hankook RA08 tires. Big improvement in ride and stability. Harder to get in the van now (couple inches taller), and the front end guys (allegedly top notch folks) say I'm just past the limit of adjustment on camber, leading to a very minor, but acceptable, bit of vagueness in steering.

If I had it to do over again, I'd most likely get the springs now offered by Van Café, which are not quite as tall as the GoWesty units.

Karl Wolz
