On my '84 I installed a bracket on the B pillar for the front table so it could be used outside. Others have welded a rod on top of the jack and used it. I also stored it behind the driver's seat. This way it's out of the way, but more useful when you need it.

It's where my coffee pot sits! In fact, mine is a Weekender, didn't have the front table so I added one.
