Simple test is put a voltmeter on the O2 sensor (or one of Ken Lewis's neat

And one can take power from the rear defogger for it.

Ok. Good to know. Not sure if idle does that, engine warm. However. Engine
cold, I have seen a similar behaviour. I'll watch for that, engine warm.
I really have to wonder if there's enough play in the engine mounts and/or
transmission mount, that a cycle of movement happens in the drive train
that pulls on the accelerator cable, causing the throttle valve switch to
open when decelerating. I have purposely left a little slack in the cable
to compensate but this may not be helping.
