All the good used ignition stuff & belts mentioned above plus a new spare water pump. I did two road trip water pump jobs on road trips, got wise, carried a spare, and then no trouble. If I could find a place for a spare 091 transmission I'd take one of those- again, two blown trans on road trips. I've got a Jetta motor now, but I still keep a water pump on hand- habit I guess, and a used timing belt, also. If you are going to be doing big big trips like we do, I'd suggest using a synthetic oil and extended drain intervals. |
