If you get it set up "just so" you'll be able to get up to speed and
then shut off the motor and use the Acme Gas Turbine to keep you
going as long as you're on the flat and don't have too much of a
tailwind.* No messing about with Brown's Gas! No more zizzing and
dripping like the tropical fish!
*If you're doing a lot of hill climbing you'll have to optimise the
installation carefully to achieve maximum OUQ (Over Unity Quotient -
used to be called PMI, Perpetual Motion Index). Past workers in the
field had to be very careful to keep the OUQ only a tiny fraction
over 1.000 so that their rigs wouldn't run wild and explode; but
modern control methods have considerably alleviated this problem and
it's only rarely now that you hear of an OUPEI (Over-Unity Power
Excursion Incident) that kills or injures more than ten or twenty people.
Los Alfaques was probably the worst to date - it was unfortunate that
the vehicle was in a crowded camping area when its containment
failed; but local officials were led to believe that the actual cause
was a tank truck carrying propylene gas which had the misfortune to
be passing nearby when the incident occurred. This obscured the
origin of the 65-foot crater and the fact that the victims were
already burned to death before the propylene fire and explosion, so
you could say it remains "our little secret" in the over-unity
world. A shame, in a way, since it was a graphic demonstration of
the available power gains. The unit was the well-known (among
cognoscenti) Rotpunct SC-7 installed in a VW T3 "Joker" with controls
integrated into the stove bezel. It's believed that one of the
children, either by accident or in a spirit of play, nudged the
feedback control. The joke was on him, apparently...though it's
clear that the three-year-old's parents should have indoctrinated him
in proper operation of the equipment. Rotpunct have officially
regretted the incident and subsequent kits have been provided with a
prominent "Nicht Gefingerpoken" placard to eliminate this possibility
in future.
