Greetings, List. On my 1986 Weekender with Girling front calipers, I've broken two rubber dust boots (aka dust caps) trying to get the front right caliper's piston back into the cylinder. The Bentley says to put the dust boot onto the piston first, and then to fit the lip of the boot into a groove on the cylinder before pressing the piston in, but I keep catching an edge of the boot in the process, resulting in a ripped boot. So, if anyone who has done this job has any tips, tricks, or pics, please share. Thanks. |
