from my old website:

"Anyone else hate the screeching noise generated by the metal on metal contact of the hinge unit of the upper bunk when the bed is unfolded? I cut a narrow strip of 1.5mm thick telfon and using one of the screws attaching the hinge the van, I installed it on the wear surface of the hinge (both left and right hinges). Now the bunk folds out smoothly and quietly."

No pics, sorry, but same idea as Bill's.

I then have to fold it back part way and "jam" it back at the bottom to get the hinges realigned and it then folds down . The hinges don't look bent but maybe I'm not seeing it correctly. Anyone have this problem and know what the fix is? Thanks for your help. >> Spencer >> 85 Westy
