I have those wheels on my Syncro. Here are some pictures: https://picasaweb.google.com/syncronicity1/Syncro If you go through the Vanagons listed for sale on theSamba there will be pictures of these wheels and other options: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/cat.php?id=55

I bought them as a package complete with tires from GoWesty. Here is a link to the package I bought, but it is specific to the Syncro, they have other packages specific to the 2WD. http://www.gowesty.com/ec_view_details.php?id=3288 Amazing, I just checked the invoice from 5 years ago when I got these. It was $999.00, now it is $1,249!

So, yes these wheels / tires made a huge difference in the performance / handling of the Vanagon. Before this I had the 14 inch alloys with some unknown and presumable funky tires. I believe an upgrade from 14 inch wheels is highly recommended.

Make sure to read the archives, you'll find much discussion on wheel options.
