I recently had the third fuel rail failure on my '84 GL.  The metal band holding the cap on the end had corroded.  Apparently these rails are no longer available from Volkswagon.  What are people doing to solve this problem?  Installing a bunch of plumbing tees?  Fabricating replacements from metal?  Is there an aftermarket part available?  I am going to see if I can put 3/8" pipe threads into the tube and install a 3/8" pipe plug.  Has this been tried?
