<div style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial; COLOR: #000000; FONT-SIZE: 24px"><DIV><FONT size=3 face=Tahoma>Hi All;</FONT></DIV><DIV><FONT size=3 face=Tahoma>At friend Scott's house in Mesa, AZ.&nbsp; Put just about 8K in so far.</FONT></DIV><DIV><FONT size=3 face=Tahoma>I have come to believe that all my friends (vanagon and otherwise contacting me on this trip) have decided to send me up and down every twisty, turny, hairpin turn, impossible dirt, middle of nowhere, and did I mention twisty turny, road between Boston and San Fran and back again.&nbsp; I havn't been on an interstate for more than 45 mins. at a time for a long time.&nbsp;&nbsp;And, yes, it was all increadably beautiful and fun&nbsp;(and a bit scary at times) and a real test of the new engine and suspension.&nbsp; Last visited ( after dropping off wife Diane&nbsp;in Denver, poor thing doesn't have as much&nbsp;vacation time as I )&nbsp;was Mexican Hat, San Juan river gooseneck, National Monument, Oak Creek Canyon (AZ) and National Forests and Recreation areas too numerous to mention.&nbsp; Did you know that Sedona is PINK?</FONT></DIV><DIV><FONT size=3 face=Tahoma></FONT>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV><FONT size=3 face=Tahoma>I caught some of the Yellowstone, NP, and bear etc. regs thread,&nbsp; I have stayed at Rocky Mtn., Yosemite, and Yellowstone in the past 3.5 weeks and here is the deal.&nbsp; Yosemite will not allow ANY food (including canned), cosmetics, dish detergent, baby bottles, or anything with fragrence in the vehicle.&nbsp; Including the fridge.&nbsp; Everything in the bear box.&nbsp; Yellowstone will allow fridge use and food in the&nbsp;vanagon, because they say it's a hard sided vehicle.&nbsp; But they have grizzly problems and I didn't see my canvas top as a hard side, a grizzly is&nbsp; tall enough to easily rip through the top and hop in with you, and so everything went into the bear box.&nbsp; BTW, Yellowstone goes so far&nbsp;as to not allow even dish drainers or basins or water jugs or containers to be left out.&nbsp;Instructions stapled to every site table in both parks.&nbsp;Very hefty fine if Rangers catch it.&nbsp; If campground hosts catch it (they&nbsp;check every day, while you are away) they just leave a nasty note, take your stuff, and make you retreive it so they can talk to you.</FONT></DIV><DIV><FONT size=3 face=Tahoma>Yosemite had a bear box at every site, Yellpwstone had communal boxes between every few sites.</FONT></DIV><DIV><FONT size=3 face=Tahoma>Well, after a few days rest and seeing some of the sights (a boat named Dolly has come up), I'll be heading up&nbsp;back up through Flagstaff, Dean has promised some of those roads, a little&nbsp;across the nation and diagonal up towards the Great Lakes and back to MA.</FONT></DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV><FONT size=3 face=Tahoma>What a great way to see the USA.&nbsp; In your Westy.</FONT></DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV><FONT size=3 face=Tahoma>Happy&nbsp;Trails;</FONT></DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV><FONT size=3 face=Tahoma>Dave B.&nbsp;&nbsp;</FONT></DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV><FONT size=3 face=Tahoma> &nbsp;&nbsp;</FONT></DIV></div>
