"I was a lowly mechanic at a VW shop in Leucadia, CA."

There was a VW shop in Leucadia? All I remember is Hugos (which did good work by me) or that German car repair place (which didn't want to touch my '72 baywindow because they were a Cali emissions test shop and the engine had been modified with dual carbs), both of whom were in Encinitas.
