joy.. im confused.. yours is a 89 westy..right? and it still runs and drives??.. why not just sell it whole? even in rusty beat shape ive seen '89 westys fetch more than 5 grand.. i paid $4500 for my '89 westy that i rescued from cash for clunkers...smashed front , smashed poptop, and all...

sell it!! dont part it out.. someone will restore it.. put it on samba...i guarantee you will get more than you think its worth..

Well, friends, the time has come. I can't cope any more with a vehicle that seems to break down every time I drive her, and Matilda is being retired. Going to the happy hunting grounds for old and infirm vanagons. I was about to (finally) register her in Canada, when she broke down yet again, and very sadly I'm giving up. (You know it's bad, when the tow truck operator shows up and regales you with his recollections of all the previous times he has towed your van. Of course you also know that means you live in a really small town...)
