I agree with everyone who says to sell the van whole. I would be more worried about getting enough people to come get parts off if then finding one motivated buyer to take the whole thing. Put it up on the Samba or even eBay with a reserve. Someone would be glad to rescue it. Just be specific and honest as to why you are selling it and the right person will come along. It's in too good of shape to part out. It might seem like a nightmare in expenses trying to play whack-a-mole with with it fixing issues but for a knowledgeable buyer that won't be a problem.

I could not imagine owning a Vanagon and not being able to work on it myself. I would go broke if I had to pay a mechanic for everything. In the past 18 months alone I have put in a new radiator, front heater core, 2 long coolant pipes, replaced the gas tank, painted the van, installed front brake calipers, new starter, new catalytic converter and diagnosed poor performance and bad gas mileage issues. Of course I had tremendous help from the list members here but there is no way I could have been able to afford paying people to do all that work. I did have someone put in my clutch for me, I was too squeamish for that.

Still waiting for a 20 mph wind to turn my new windmill....

Bryan
