So 84 Westy. Bostig ConversionNew AC Compressor and and service ports for R134aHad AC guys pull vacuum and check for leaks. Added new oil and R134a low side pulls vacuum. AC guy says more than likely something is wrong with the expansion valve. In readin forums it appears some folks were able to get the back panel off the rear cabinet by removing some screws from the upper bunk area. I am wondering if there are any other options for me other than dropping the whole cabinet down? remove just the back panel to replace he expansion valve? If there isn't a way to take off the back panel, how does one losen the lower hose off the evaporator to allow to lower? Thanks guys, > Date: Thu, 28 Jun 2012 15:26:12 +0000 > From: fittdog8848@HOTMAIL.COM > Subject: Re: Vanagon a/c > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > > Sorry about that. I have an 84 westy. I have been reading about lowering it and all the cutting slits etc.. My main concern is how I get the bootm side hose disconnected. I can see the larger hose from the back but the bottom one is hard to see. > > Date: Thu, 28 Jun 2012 10:19:43 -0500 > > From: jrodgers113@gmail.com > > To: fittdog8848@HOTMAIL.COM > > CC: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > > Subject: Re: Vanagon a/c > > > > I didn't catch what type vehicle you have- but on My 88Gl - AI put up a > > stack of wide wood blocks, mounted a hydraulic jack on top with a wide > > flat of plywood on top.
