First thing you learn if you want to park in the streets of San Francisco:

Downhill: Turn towards the curb
Uphill: Turn away from the curb

You can always tell the tourists from the locals. The Flatlandians are the ones who fail to curb their wheels & forget don't engage the parking brakes. Some can even be observed running after their car.:-)
