Not something you can "fix" beofre departure but an item you need to have onboard just in case. Pick up a roll of "Rescue Tape" for roadside repairs. It is a silicone self bonding stretch tape(non adhesive) you can use on hoses that rupture. We drove 1500 miles on such a repair in January after a hose blew between Tucson and Gila Bend on Hwy 86. Would have stopped sooner to replace the hose but the tape was holding nicely and stopping would have meant staying in one place for a couple days for the hose to arrive from Sacramento.
