It's common for insurance companies to require inside storage for a
collector car and to "assume" that your daily driver must be newer.

Recently I tried to get collector car insurance for my 1992 600SEL. Three
potential carriers turned my down due to my not guarantee it being stored
inside a garage and the fact that my daily driver cars (1988 fox and two
1987 Vanagons) were older. The campers are singled out as they have
additional risks, even though they may not be covered. When you and your
camper occupy a site, just like renting an apartment you are now liable for
anything that happens on that site. My motorhome insurance has that coverage
listed.

Hi ..
thanks for making that clear, but if a person can't run to the store in
their fine van...
You can get collector care insurance for an '84 vanagon' ?
but not an 84 Westphalia Vanagon ?
doesn't sound right.
Wonder what your DMV's defenition of 'excursion' is.
