RE the XKE: that would have been an easier mistake (than an MGB) to
make since both cars had the "backwards" opening hoods. Never saw an
XKE engine with a dual carb setup either, though my wife's POS XJ6 had
those two sorry unadjustable smog-bergs on essentially the same
engine.
But if one were smart enough not to have fooled with any of that junk,
one wouldn't know, right?
