Subject: FryDay a real FRY day

Ok, so getting ready to take the camper in tomorrow for brake work I disconnect and remove the removable CB and HAM radio and disconnect the and remove the powered tube subwoofer, and remove radio faceplate. Go back out and hour later and smell burning electronics - quickly start looking for source of smoke and start sliding seats forward if in need of disconnecting batteries. But - everything seems to work - radio light is still blinking, all driving lights work, so I go re-plug all the toys I removed - and they all work. Ok, did the fan I installed over the fridge cooling fins burn out - nope. water level & battery? nope. Lights I installed under storage tray at top of windows? Yep. but hmm, the rear light doesn't work - and on removing the cover there's no signs of short - Bently time. Hmmm - rear light connected to door light. Door light works - but is discolored - pull it out and bits of burned wiring insulation fall out. Rut Ro, scooby doo. Talk about a bizarre coincidence - nothing I went near was up there - must have just been time for the wire going from the front door light to the rear camping light to short out. So the day was indeed a FRY day.

Bah - oh well - it's not an engine fire or such. Plus it gives me an excuse to connect the rear camping light to the AUX battery now. Tom '84 Westy "Spiny Norman"
