" Make sure the O2 sensor system is working properly and at catalyst replacement time consider the big bucks of OEM. I have yet to see a replacement cat have as much material as the original.

Hi,

'84 Westy 1.9L (now 2.2L with 96mm pistons - GoWesty 2200cc kit)

I think that I did just the opposite. I bought the Bosal ($109 from BusDepot - cheapest one on the lot). So would the assumption be that this cat isn't doing its job as well as, say, the CA-qualified cats or some other, more expensive cat (you get what you pay for...)? Also, would buying a cat with more "material" inside affect the engine performance in any way? Buying a more expensive cat to reduce my carbon footprint is reason enough to do it, but what other cause/effects may also be a part of this decision, positive or negative? Thanks.
