Im back on the road since Tuesday- driving a dark blue Vanagon Westfalia now just west of Chattanooga Tennessee andstil smelling gas.the rubber lines to the overflow bottles are rotten.gas spills on the ground if i fill the tank beyond 13 gals. The tank is also pushed in and was that way when i got it.so far every auto parts I try doesnt have metric vw hose. Anyone know where I can get some along this route?-im goint memphis on US 64, then to Arkansas,OK,etc on US 40 Robert 1991 Westfalia Sent from my Nokia phone -----Original Message----- From: ddbjorkman@verizon.net Sent: 07/13/2012 15:02:08 Subject: Re: RE: Road trip Hi Robert; That gas smell is VERY dangerous. It can put you to sleep and cause a crash, not to mention that it is an explosive condition. You are losing gas, and it may be accumulating on top of your tank. Put a call out to the list and find a vendor or listee who can get you those lines and seals. I did it myself and know they are available. The area you are in has shops to do that work if you want. Please take care of this dangerous situation. We do not need a flaming bus horror story. There are only so many Vanagons, and folks who love them, left out there.
