here's one for 3,000 Pounds in the UK looks like. it's only an 83 with 1.9 petrol waterboxer engine. 3,000 Pounds is about $ 4,860 US apparently .. pretty low for a good Westy Camper these days. hard to say with out a lot more information. 'she just needs a bit of cleaning' ....ah .....sure. it depends on condition. anything like $ 6K US would sure be low for any 86 Camper Vanagon these days. I would garner there is seam rust , just a hunch. I didn't check the price - but there is a nice looking late white Westy for sale on the lot of a Mercedes / Jag/ Rover repair shop near me. I bet that one is over $ 15,000 US. Easily, these days. Scott www.turbovans.com

In Lubec, Maine we've encountered the nicest people including a man who wants to sell his '86 Joker. Aside from sitting for two years and thus covered with the expected grunge the body is in great shape, the rubber is good, the seats show a lot of wear, the appliances all are claimed to work. The engine, drive train etc? He's been laid up & not used her in a couple of years. He says he'll have her running & road worthy for a test drive in three weeks when we come back this way. Question - what's the skinny on the Joker? I've been so consumed with my Westy I haven't looked at anything else in 6+ years. > The big question - what's a fair price range? > > Dake > '84 Westy Wolfsburg- Wu-Wei > Sent from my iPod > |
