Subject: AC Compressor
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

I recently had an ear brake off the compressor of my 87. I had broken off one of the bolts in the compressor mount. When I tried to remove the compressor there was a piece of the sticking out and the ear snapped off. I had the piece and was able to get it welded. The welder was concerned that the compressor was magnesium, but he was able to weld it with an aluminum rod, so it can be done. I just finished a three day trip in Colorado and my Bus is running better than it has in years. It was a bit of a milestone as it turned 200k. I camped several nights at Valley View hot springs, and there were four Westy's in total, 2 syncros and two 2WD. It is always fun to chat with other owners! Finn Runyon 87 Westy Pooh 89 Westy Roo
