If everything in the wiring is just so (possibly including some larger-than-stock wires) the DC and AC heaters have the same heating capacity.

However, the fridge never works as well when moving as it does when standing still, whether powered by DC or gas, because it's working on a gravity-driven cycle and the sloshing around interferes. If you're monitoring cooling-plate temps you can see them rise a few degrees as soon as you start going.

And of course, the DC only works when the engine is running and alternator charging, unless someone has rewired things.
