As wired from the factory, the refrigerator simply shuts off when the engine is shut down. However, some folks with auxiliary batteries have wired in circuitry to allow the refrigerator to keep running of the auxiliary battery when the engine is off. Others have not. In those vans that came from the factory with an auxiliary battery, it was only for lighting, not for the refrigerator. mcneely
