Yes, it does, and I was surprised too. It runs from the metal box to the chassis somewhere under the floor, so I'm hooking a new one up to the rib in back of the fridge. It seems like 10 guage should be enough though. I think the theory is to not have the ground wire melt first in case of a short. Who knows.

And to the original question, I think a GFCI is a good idea.

Does the Westy really have a 6-ga bonding wire? I'm surprised they'd use one so large (but I know zip about Codes...).
