Try asking over on this list for the type conversion you are doing.

Short answer: There really is no one source to tell you just everything you know for the ABA inline conversion. It is pretty basic but there are some variations, too many to simply say..."You need this and this and this...... then you are done..." If I did it without many false starts, as an almost engine rookie, almost anyone can do it...

I used the timing belt cover from my 1.8 liter inline when I combined it with the ABA block in my conversion. Had to do a little modifying, but it works. Techtonic's Tuning has some good information on their site and they also supply lots of inline VW parts...Look for the Tech Tips page..
