I keep a Word document on every vehicle I own. I write the date, the mileage, and a narrative of what I put on or do to the car and why. I record the problems the car is having at a given time, and how they were resolved—or not. I have my Westy divided into the subtopics of motor, body, and camping equipment.

It's a great diagnostic tool. I don't care about the cost, that's not the point, so I don't track that. But it is a good "medical record" of the patient.
