Anyone who knows how to sew can do it. There's a threading tool that you milk through the channel. Use strong elastic - my wife did ours and it was only about half as strong as it wanted to be. It's got a lot of weight to support and heavy fabric to bunch up. Even weak, though, it worked tolerably once the visors were folded over under it. I don't have one here to look at, but I might be inclined to consider using thin marine shock cord if it will fit. Might have to use a different kind of fishing wire for that. Sorry I'm being vague, I've never looked at the details of them (or have forgotten).
