I keep some little things there, most notably shop rags and a folded-up plastic sheet that I keep in case I need to lie on the ground for any reason.  Hope I have not jinxed anything by mentioning that.   I also keep things on the shelf near the A/C intake but not enough to block it.

In my 1991 Volkswagen Vanagon GL Campmobile there is a long, narrow space (maybe 6"x6"x20" to the left of the overhead air conditioning enclosure.  Behind that space is a much smaller space where air conditioning hoses run.

Has anyone used this space for storage at all?  Obviously, anything that might damage the lines is a definite no-no.  But I was trying to figure out if there was any reason not to put anything there like rolled up nylon ropes or other soft stuff.  Is this space needed to be open for reasons having to do with the air conditioning?  I know not to put anything on the "shelf" behind the air conditioning enclosure that could block the circulation in that area.  I do keep my broom on that shelf.

Thanks, David McNeely
