I personally don't like anything wider than 7". They will stick out up front and kick up a lot of road grime on the side of the van. That wheel's offset is most likely 45. Compare that to the VWOSA 15x 6.5 Carat wheel with a 30 ET and you can get a feel for the spacing issue. That wheel would be 15mm closer in (45-30) plus half the difference in wheel width or 12.5mm. Altogether that is 27.5mm inset difference. You could use a 25mm 5/112 to 5/112 adapter to mount them but figure $180+/set, plus lug nuts. Then you most likely need the centers enlarged, and messing around finding a wheel shop and paying them to do it. If you get a set of wheels free it is worth the trouble, or if you just love a certain look, but otherwise, you're better off buying a bolt on set offered by one of the vendors. --- On Wed, 7/18/12, Harry Hoffman <hhoffman@IP-SOLUTIONS.NET> wrote:

Hi, Someone graciously offered, a while back, to help in my pursuit of finding new rims. I can't find that email so I don't remember who it was. I'm looking at the rims below and wondering if anyone can offer some sagely advise on whether or not they will fit. The general specs seem to match the "ultimate wheel post" on the samba. http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/pts/3083164822.html Cheers, Harry |
