What you need is a gimbaled marine stove. You could probably drive down the interstate while boiling water with this one! http://www.forespar.com/products/boat-gimballed-stove-mini-galley.shtml Stuart '85 Westy (if I can boil water for coffee I'm happy!) -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Rocket J Squirrel Sent: Tuesday, July 17, 2012 1:41 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Westy Stove Leveling Ideas Sought Last night I didn't have a chance to level the van before camping. I normally do this using those plastic ramps available from RV stores, but no chance. Cooking was a bit of a mess this morning with the stovetop not level. I raised the low end by setting some odds and ends under it. Of course I had to pop the grill loose from the stovetop to do this. So I got me another Swell Idea (TM): Someone really smart could figure out a way to level the stovetop grill maybe by threading the ends of some of the feet and putting some kind of ends on them that could be screwed up and down. Something that would not get in the way of securing the grill using the existing two feet that snap into it? -- Jack "Rocket j Squirrel" Elliott 1984 Westfalia, auto trans, Bend, Ore. |
