I am not an expert but if I had 5 grand to spare, I would send you a check for that knowing that most of the work done was 10 years ago and will need to be done again in my lifetime (God willing, and the creek don't rise.) That said, there will still be a lot of catchup work to be done as always with any Vanagon you buy. So depending on where you are, I might start at 7 and let the market either pleasantly surprise you with a quick sale, or let it work you down to where either you decide you will not let it go for that amount or someone bites.

Now others might have a different point of view.
