I usually level the van using them plastic ramps from RV stores, but
it's an inexact art and the grill on the stovetop is seldom completely
level. To those of you that view the stove as a device for just heating
chili, this is not an issue.

But when one is looking to make a nice thin omlette--as one frequently
does when primitive camping--or, for you more rustic types, rustle up a
mess-a griddlecakes--then a level cooking surface really helps a lot.

If the grill were to have some means of adjusting on two axis by a few
degrees then leveling it using a skillet with a little water in it or a
bubble level. Just the thing for the Backcountry Gourmet.
