Oh yeah, with the DSO if you get the proper attachments you can look at
primary and secondary ignition and injector waveforms.
All very useful but again only if you know what your looking at.

Scanners like this are good for OBD2 vehicles.
You can pinpoint misfire locations and frequency.
Also check fuel trims and chase down issues from the values.
And check MAF voltage or freq and O2 sensor response.
And do bidirectional control of actuators, etc..
I don't think it would be quite as useful on an old system like the vgon,
since you can't use most of those functions.
The vantage does have a DSO, so you could use that to get sensor response.
But like the v mech said, only if used correctly. You need to know what good
waveforms and response times look like for your application.
Otherwise your just looking at scope traces and impressing your friends:)

Hi all.
A local Vanagon mechanic suggested this as a very useful tool (if used
correctly)
Snap On Vantage. Not sure exactly which model though.
Have others used this on the WBX and found it to be useful for
troubleshooting running issues related to engine electrical?
I still have an intermittent surge and not great idle.
Thanks,
Neil.
