Hi all. While double checking fuel injector wires and contacts, thought to check the harness itself. Image of heat damage to harness: https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-dLjG_QOWJ-Y/UBMyKLgJ-cI/AAAAAAAAF6o/ypQ3ZKhHuZg/s720/1988%2520Westy%2520Wiring%2520Harness%2520Heat%2520Damage.jpg The dark brown spots are where harness was cable strapped beneath the air cleaner bracket. Why would there be heat damage at those spots? Is there that much current going through those FI and Idle module wires to cause this? Kinda doubt it. Even 2 or 3 fuel injector wires were a little dark. Engine overheat? The head on that side is an AMC so likely was replaced. Did find a crack in 1 PS pressure switch wire (near where it enters harness cover) though I doubt that was an issue. Checking the harness is a good thing to do!
