Well, it is very dense, and adhesive is available from Rubbercal.  The ¼”
stuff would work fine for that purpose, and my “carpet” is ¼”, not ½” like I
posted.  Figure the square foot pricing and compare options.  Keep in mind
the rubber smell when new.  Best to bake it in the sun for a week or so to
let it out-gas completely before installing it.  It’s used in the gym I go
to, and I don’t notice any rubber smell.

With the right adhesive and prep work,the thin stuff may be good for sound
deadening in doors and such too??

It's 1/2" thick, tough as nails, and cleans up easily (easy to remove and
hose off too).  It feels good on bare feet and things don't slide around on
it.  I got the red dot version, but now I wish I'd gotten candy corn.  Only
caveat is that it smelled strongly from the recycled tires it's made from,
but after a month of airing out it's now odorless.
