I would expect sender and gauge typically to come from same mfr for best results, but mfr may have different lines of gauges/senders with different properties, and the senders for different temperature ranges will be different. The info on the forum you pointed to is highly specific to OEM VW oil temp gauges made by VDO, and the senders they're talking about are specific senders for specific versions of the VW oil temp gauge used on a particular range of vehicles (maybe more as well). If you take a gauge and sender out of the same vehicle at the wrecker's yard they will match. Yours, David |
