David, I get over 20 mpg regularly; I (averaged 20.22 on recent 5k+ miles trip, with some legs at 22.  The entire trip was well above sea level except for a brief excursion to Burlington, WA for muffler replacement.  Mostly I was above 3k ft elevation, up to 10k on one pass in Wyoming.  Conditions make all the difference.  When buffeted by strong winds on two legs my mileage was around 17 mpg.  I try to drive at a steady 60 mph when cruising, but traffic can cause variation, as can wind and topography.  mcneely
