Well, we do need to keep the insulin pens below 40 F until opened, then one is good for 28 days at ambient temperature. On weekend trips near home we don't bother with spares, but for long trips we carry an extra fresh one and a copy of the prescription as further insurance. The fresh one is a back up in case of loss, which has never happened.

I see I made a typo. Peace of mind, not mine. Though I would like to always have my peace. mcneely
