Carry a manometer and turn your pressure down 1-2 inches W.C. should take care of that. Don't forget to turn it back up to 11" afterwards. If there's a pinhole in the tubing between regulator and manometer the manometer will track the pressure as you turn it down. Doing this on any regular basis of course wants a tee valve of some sort with a hose barb. A vampire tap such as is used for fridge icemakers might have possibilities, run a copper stub from that to a small cock. Tape plastic over the whole thing to keep everything clean and dry. And you'll have 24 feet 11 inches of small-gauge copper line left over from the fridge hookup kit. :)
