From the factory the cover was there. It just snaps in place. No sealant needed. It just keeps dust water etc. out of the switch itself. The later switch also uses a different cam for better actuation.

Hey Vanagon addicts,

Had my throttle body out to swap in a better TPS and remembered ordering a cover from one of the list venders (GoWesty?). I'm pretty sure my factory fresh '91 did not come with one. My ETKA just shows the 1.9 switches. No cover. It fits really well and has a weep hole. I used some RTV but the cover has a lip which fits the switch plate quite well.

Anyone seen this on a stock Vanagon?
