I have to ask as maybe I'm not thinking overly correctly this morning (it is Monday), but what kind of setup would you have on the roof to carry a canoe on it's side?

The difference in width from either bow or stern to the center line would make the canoe stand extremely high in middle and require quite the structure to support from the actual roof racks.

I have the yakima rain gutter racks with 72" cross bars and can carry two canoes no problem, we just stuff things in water proof bags and put them under the canoes, works great.

Now it's back outside to repair the newly acquired coolant leak before our trip to the east coast end of this week.
